Rhythm is the heartbeat of music. It equals the beating of the heart, signifies its existence, and proves its vitality. Rhythm is order. But order in music is not the cosmic punctuality of a planet, nor the automatic uniformity of a clock. It reflects life, organic human life, because just like it, it is subject to emotions, moods, impulses, and depression... Absolute speed or the so-called tempo does not exist either, as it depends on psychological and physical conditions and the influences of internal and external temperature, environment, instruments, and acoustics.
